Renewed Exodus support for PAN Parks

Exodus Travel, the UK based adventure and activity holiday company, renewed its support for the PAN Parks Foundation and contributes to projects ensuring the guaranteed, long term protection of Europe's wilderness.

Peter Burrell, Managing Director, Exodus and
Zoltan Kun, Executive Director, PAN Parks Foundation

Exodus has already been supporting PAN Parks since 2007 as for each client who visited Oulanka National Park in Finland and participated on the Finnish Wilderness Week at Basecamp Oulanka, Exodus contributed to PAN Parks with 20 EUR. During the last 5 winter seasons more than 28,000 EUR has been raised this way for wilderness protection.

The supported projects included
•    helping build an information centre and providing new maps for visitors in Retezat NP, Romania;
•    aiding the development of an eco-trail in the park with information boards and leaflets en-route in Rila NP, Bulgaria;
•    creating new tourist maps and 16 information boards in Borjomi-Kharagauli NP, Georgia;
•    contributing to the project ’Stories of Wilderness’ which raises awareness of the Majella in Italy and its wilderness through images and stories.

From next year on Exodus continues to support various PAN Parks projects with donations linked to the needs of each project, rather than the number of clients participating in their Oulanka trip. ”The renewed support from Exodus is important for us because Exodus became one of the first companies to allocate funding for supporting the realisation of our goal to ensure the guaranteed protection of 1 million hectares of wilderness in Europe” – added Zoltan Kun, Executive Director of PAN Parks.
