Research

PAN Parks erected the Research Network in 2003 after several years of co-operation with different universities. The goals of the Network are to analyse and prioritise information needs from PAN Parks partners and the Foundation, and to co-ordinate the research process towards useful reports. While previously research was done initiated by the researcher, research is now focused on specific goals formulated by the PAN Parks partners or the Foundation itself. The usefulness of the reports has thus strongly increased.

The Network aims to:

  • Collect reliable data for marketing purposes
  • Assist in management decisions
  • Measure PAN Parks effectiveness
  • Share knowledge and experience in the network
  • Involve the younger generation in innovative projects
  • Provide a service to our partners
  • Ensure research is useful for the partner
  • Co-ordinate demand for research

The involvement of national universities and research institutes offers possibilities to include local population and communities where foreign languages would otherwise be barriers for thorough research. The research network offers a service to all PAN Parks partners.

The researches that are carried out are listed in our Research agenda.
PAN Parks research covers various subjects: marketing, tourism development, wilderness issues. Have a look at the downloadable research site for the full list of subjects.
