Zoltán Kun
Executive Director
Attained a forestry technician diploma at the Secondary school in Sopron, Hungary in 1990. Although the diploma was not specifically focused on conservation, it did display his interest in nature. He graduated with an MSc in landscape architecture in Hungary at University of Horticulture and Food Industry in 1996. His final thesis was on flood-plain restoration written in the Netherlands at the Wageningen Agriculture University in the framework of TEMPUS ICER programme.
Since childhood Zoltan's dream has been to work with WWF and in 1996 this became a reality when he began working with WWF Hungary as coordinator of the Gemenc Foodplain restoration project. He joined the PAN Parks Initiative in August 1997. He was appointed Executive Director in March 2002 after working with PAN Parks for five years as Conservation Manager.
He has the overall responsibility for the operation of the Foundation, represents PAN Parks towards WWF and other international organisations and is also involved in fundraising activities.

Vladivoj Vancura Conservation Manager
Attained a forestry university diploma at the Forestry University in Zvolen, Slovakia in 1981 and finished postgraduate study "Management of natural resources" in 1986 . Between 1982 and 1996 Vlado worked for the National Park Service, Slovakia. To learn about management of protected areas he ended up spending 24 months working as a volunteer for the National Park Service, USA and 6 months as a volunteer for Parks Canada. After 1996 Vlado worked for the Slovak NGO, A-project and in 2000 he was appointed PAN Parks Regional Coordinator for Central and Eastern Europe. In October 2002 he was appointed Conservation Manager.
He is responsible for the verification process, updating P&C and keeping contact with protected areas and NGOs.

Gavin Bell Communications Manager
Having spent 15 years working in the Peak District National Park UK, first as a ranger then as interpretation project officer, he brings a good knowledge of communications and project management within Protected Areas. Since 2002 he has worked on a mainly voluntary capacity with projects in Romania and other South Eastern European countries. He is also involved in the training of protected area staff. Gavin recently became a member of WCPA.
At PAN Parks his task is managing the overall communications including editing the e-newsletter, maintenance of the website and production of different publications. He provides support to certified PAN Parks in implementing communications and visibility projects

Gerben Weening Business Development manager
Gerben studied Commercial Management (HEAO) in Zwolle in the Netherlands. Afterwards he obtained his MSc degree in Management Science at the University in Nijmegen in the Netherlands (KUN). His final thesis was on New Business/ E-businsses for the Leisure market and focus on the potential and future options for a Dutch Leisure company.
In 1999 he started to work for Molecaten (a leisure company with 11 Recreational parks in the Netherlands and one in Hungary) and in 2000 he was part of the management team of Molecaten (marketing and ICT). In 2002 Gerben started up PAN Parks Accommodation and developed the first PPA park in Sweden and started to get heavily involved with PAN Parks. Molecaten is one of the founders of PPF and PPA.
In the beginning he was surprised by the large and beautiful wildernesses in Europe and realised how important it is to communicate these areas and protect them for future generations. In December 2006 he started his own company and started to work for PPF as a Business Development manager. He is responsible for the contact with businesses in order to set up partnerships and develop new business opportunities.

Mylene van der Donk Marketing and Research Officer
Mylene studied Tourism Management and Consultancy in Breda in the Netherlands. Afterwards she obtained an MSc degree in Leisure and Environment at the University of Wageningen.
Since 2002 she works part time on marketing, tourism development and research related subjects for the Foundation. Additionally she worked for IUCN National Committee of the Netherlands and did other freelance consultancy for several organisations. During 2007 she worked for the Oulanka National Park region in Finland on product development, local partnerships, international marketing and cross-boundary cooperation with Paanajarvi National Park in Russia.

Helga Hoffmann
Finance and Office Supervisor . Helga joined PAN Parks in December 2007 and she is responsible for financial and official issues, such as general office management, ensuring proper cash-flow management, reporting to donors, and ensuring that the Foundation’s profit and loss statement is taken into account during budget planning. Helga graduated at Teacher's Training College as an English teacher in 1994. After two years of teaching experience she left for England to study general and business English. In 1999 she passed the Proficiency in English certificate in Berlin. After 5 years living abroad Helga returned back to Hungary, and in 2003 gained a degree in Public Relations at Berzsenyi Dániel College in Szombathely.Afterwards she took up financial studies and accountancy, and in 2006 qualified as a bookkeeper..

Barbara Mayer Tourism Development and Events Officer
Barbara studied Toursim and Hotel Management at the Budapest Business School in Hungary. After working for PAN Parks as an intern for a year, she joined our team in August 2007 as Tourism Development and Events Officer.
Her tasks include developing tourism packages, and managing the logistics of events, like Europe’s Wilderness Days Conference. She is also in regular contact with Certified Local Business Partners and prepares packages with visible materials for them.
