Activities by days

Day 1 – Arrive in Rila
Arrival in Sofia and travel to the edge of the Rila Mountains. We get to know our guides. Overnight in a small hotel in Govedartsi (1 night).
Day 2 - The Seven Rila Lakes
Our first tour leads up to the picturesque Rila lakes. We carry the baggage for one night on the back. Overnight in a simple mountain hut near the lakes. Walking time 3 h.
Day 3 – Trek to Rila Monastery
We leave the lakes behind and climb a mountain pass. After a summit climb (2,700 m) we can already see deep down in the valley, the Rila Monastery where we arrive after a long descent through mountain meadows and dense forests. We stay in simple bungalows or in the monastery. Walking time 8 h.
Day 4 – Valley, pass, peak, ridge
Back in the Rila valley we walk to the great ‘fish lakes,’ trekking on a mountain pass and reaching a small peak. Overnight in a simple mountain lodge in Semkovo. Walking time about 7 h.
Day 5 – Walking in Pirin
We start our tour of Pirin: crystal-clear glacial lakes, rugged peaks and ridges form the scene. Overnight in the secluded mountain cabin at Tevno Ezero Lake at 2,500 m. Walking time about 6 h.
Day 6 – A day at leisure
We walk ona ridge through the heart of the Pirin mountains with glacial lakes below. Overnight in one of the most picturesque cabins in the Bulgarian mountains. Walking time approximately 8 h.
Day 7 - Descent from the mountain hut and back to Sofia
From the high mountain pastures, we descend through dense mountain forests and visit a small kennel for Bulgarian mountain horses. After a picnic we head back to Sofia. Overnight in a comfortable hotel in the center . Walking time approx 2 hours.
Day 8 - Departure from Sofia
You can explore the city individually. It is also possible to have an extension to this trip in Sofia, the mountains or on the Bulgarian and the Greek coast.
