Providing a wide variety of Soomaa experiences including beaver safari, bog-shoeing and wilderness canoe trips in traditional dugout canoes
SOOMAA.COM provides Soomaa experiences by offering activities, accommodation and other tourism services. We have been operating canoe trips on the rivers of Soomaa National Park since 1996. Bog-walking and bog-shoeing experiences are organised year around, also season specific theme-excursions and workshops on mushrooming, berry picking and cooking together with locals is possible. From May to September we offer beaver viewing safaris and guided night canoeing trips. Trips in traditional dugout canoes and canoe building workshops are also offered. Smoke sauna and floating sauna are available at Bacecamp Karuskose.
We have two Basecamps, one is located in Karuskose, near River Raudna in the middle of Soomaa National Park, the other is located in Saarisoo, on the northern boundary of the national park, near River Navesti.
We run daily transfers from hotels of Pärnu.
Self-guided canoeing experience
These tours are offered on the rivers of Soomaa – Raudna, Lemmjõgi, Halliste, Navesti, Tõramaa. Canoe, paddles, life-jackets, map are included. Booking is needed in advance, at least on previous day. Max number of people in a group on one day is 50. This activity is available from April to October. Price starts at 20 euro.
Guided wilderness canoe trips
These tours are offered on the rivers of Soomaa – Raudna, Lemmjõgi, Halliste, Navesti, Tõramaa. Canoe, paddles, life-jackets, map are included. Booking is needed in advance, at least on previous day. Max number of people in a group on one day is 50. This activity is available from April to October. Price starts at 30 euro.
Guided bog-shoeing experience
These tours are offered on bogs of Soomaa – Kuresoo, Riisa. Bog-shoes are included. Booking is needed in advance, at least on previous day. Max number of people in a group on one day is 50. This activity is available from April to October. Price starts at 30 euro.
Floating sauna experience
This activity is offered in Karuskose between June- August and the price starts at 100 euro per group.
Smoke sauna experience
This activity is offered in Karuskose year around and the price starts at 100 euro per group.
Booking is needed in advance, at least on previous day. Max number of people in a group on one day is 10.
Beaver safari
This activity is offered in Karuskose between May – September. Canoe, paddles, life-jackets are included. Max number of people in a group on one day is 15. Booking is needed latest in the morning of the day of the safari. The price starts at 30 euro.
