Activity

Introduction

Peter and Erica from HuskyGård welcome you at their dog farm in Höstsätern. During the winter season they offer dog sledding (mushing) tours. Outside the winter season they offer fishing and other bush-craft/wilderness adventures. 
All their activities take place in wilderness with its gorgeous mountain, forests, lakes and rivers.
You can even book a dog-massage for your dog as Erica is a certified dog masseur.

Location

HuskyGård is located directly on the road between Idre and Grövelsjön in the North Dalarna province.

Activities

Husky Hike
Normally people take their dog for a walk but our dogs take you for a walk. You get a dog handler belt, a dog and off we go on a nice evening walk on little roads and through the woods. The walk is about 4 km long. Back at the kennel we make up a fire, grill hotdogs and cook some coffee. 
Children under 11 years of age share a dog with an adult. Make sure you wear appropriate clothing and shoes / boots, rain clothing if needed. Children always under the supervision of an adult. We need at least 4 adults for the activity to take place.
Time: We start at 6.45 pm and end the evening at about 9.00 pm
Location: HuskyGård in Höstsätern. A 9 minutes drive from Idre
Prices: Children under 11 SEK 100 pp (share a dog with an adult)
From 11 and up SEK 290 pp
Prices include a hotdog and coffee / tea or lemonade

TIP: This activity is great to combine with our Feeding Time activity.

Feeding Time
Help us feed our 32 dogs & grilling hotdogs over a camp fire. Together we feed all of our dogs then we light a camp fire, grill hotdogs and cook coffee. Children always under the supervision of an adult. We need at least 5 persons for the activity to take place.
Time: We start at 4.30 pm and end the evening at about 6.30 pm

Bushcraft Hike
Educational wilderness hike in the theme of bushcraft. We gather at HuskyGård and then drive to the start point of the hike. We start with a few instructions and planning the trip. At lunch time we will make a fire so bring some coffee, hot dogs, etc. At about 4:00 pm we finish our tour. The walk is usually about 10 - 15 km long depending on the group, weather and wind.
On this tour you will learn basic bushcraft skills such as navigation and orientation, safety, making fire, but also about survival, Swedish right of public access and how to enjoy the wilderness in a sustainable manner.We need at least 5 adults for the activity to take place.
Time: Varje day, 10.00 am - 4.00 pm
Location: Will be notified in advance 
Prices:   SEK 530 per person, children below 17 SEK 220

Peter's Fish n' Grill
Fancy a spot of fishing? We try our luck at some very nice fishing places and take in the wilderness. Bring your own gear or lend one of my rods. I'll take care of coffee/tea/lemonade and hot dogs cause we are likely to make a fire at some point.  Fishing permit included. No experience is required! I'm there to help you.
