See the northernmost Swedish wild forest
The beauty of forests has been documented in the newly published book ’The Wild Forests of Norrbotten – the northernmost wilderness bound of Europe.’ The fabulous photobook - also endorsed by the PAN Parks Foundation - introduces the northernmost area of Sweden which is not only the most representative of Swedish nature but is also considered a symbol of European nature with its valuable old-growth forests.

The old-growth forests of Norrbotten land, the northernmost area of Sweden, is photographically shown in the book celebrating European pristine forests in the International Year of Forests 2011. The touching images of the book show the untouched marvel of the old-growth forests, aiming to result in a feeling of belonging and a raised awareness of protecting nature. The book presents an homage to wild forests.
The photographer and writer Andrea Barghi has been travelling in this area for many years, following the inspiration that wilderness has given him. He has worked for more than 30 years in international nature and environmental projects. His photography is characterized by a balance of art and emotions.
The publication is published under the patronage of WWF, PAN Parks Foundation, Naturskyddsföreningen (the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation) in collaboration with several local, regional and national organisations.
The publication which is a valuable edition with the highest quality standards of paper, environmentally friendly finishing and production won’t be on sale but will be distributed to its supporters, key nature conservation organisations and will be introduced through presentations in Sweden and abroad giving it an international diffusion.
