Breathtaking nature in Borjomi – a traveller review

Two Dutchmen share their story of a truly adventurous and challenging 3-day horse-riding trip among the breathtaking mountains of the Georgian Caucasus as well as the truly unspoiled wilderness in the heart of Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park.

Breathtaking nature in Borjomi – a traveller review“On the occasion of my son graduating from high school, Garbrand and I decided to take an adventure trip somewhere wild, where we can experience the beauty of nature from close up,” – says Edwin Wiersema from the Netherlands. Having read about the Caucasus Mountains in the WWF Journal, they began to search for the ideal “package”  and opted for a 3-day horse-riding trip through the breathtaking mountains of PAN Park Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park in Georgia.

Their adventure report includes full recap of their preparation for the trip leading through steep, narrow paths by infinite forests, to an area with no sound, no cabin, no light, no power cord, only green wooded slopes as far as the eye could see. They tell us about reaching the tree line and riding through beautiful flower fields, of which the gorgeous rhododendrons were certainly their favourite. Encounters with snow and a lot of fresh bear claw prints. How does the story unfold?
